In addition to Episodes 7, 8 and 9, Disney promised us two more Star Wars movies that would be companion films to the main story. Star Wars Rogue One is the first of these films.
Yesterday, the cast of Rogue One has been officially announced. I did not recognize every name but I was very excited to see Donnie Yen and Forest Whitaker. Donnie Yen has made some amazing action movies and Forest Whitaker has played so many different roles over the years and I’m very curious to know what role he’ll be playing in this movie.
Curse Your Sudden But Inevitable Betrayal
Yes, how could I forget Alan Tudyk?! It is funny seeing that in that Starwars.com article, they mention various things people have been known for in the past but with Alan they only mention a new series called “Con Man” and a movied titled, “Trumbo.” How on earth could you not mention Firefly and Dodgeball (my fav though there are other things he’s been awesome in).
So I had to look at what Con Man is about and IMDB says “Wray Nerely is a struggling actor who starred as a spaceship pilot on Spectrum, a canceled science fiction series that went on to become a cult classic.” What? Gee, I’m sorry, I don’t think that is in Alan’s wheelhouse.
So I’m triply excited (I checked, triply is a word). First, because I was just given the chance to be sarcastic. Second, because I’ve got a new TV series to look forward to. Third, because this new Star Wars movie is featuring three actors I already enjoy.
“Rogue One tells the story of resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star” well, anyone who saw episode IV knows they must succeed as R2-D2 has those stolen plans stashed away in A New Hope. But knowing the end is not necessarily a spoiler, it is the journey that proves to be exciting.
