Shut Up And Take My Money: Con Man Trailer

Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk take on the roles of two actors from a prematurely cancelled Sci-Fi series called Spectrum.  If you’re a fan of Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudy, then you’ll probably love this as much as I do…

“She looks just like that hot hot cylon.  No the other one, the other one, the other one.  No, that’s a dude”  hahaha it is cool to see Tricia Helfer in this as well. Now if you’re a Firefly fan, don’t get too too excited.  It’s not Firefly but we’ll no doubt see references to Firefly. Con Man is not about a street hustling confidence man, it is about the world of conventions. While television often portrays convention goers in an unkind light, Con Man will get its laughs from the convention workers and crazy celebrities while the fans will be highly regarded.

So when and where?

Well the show was actually crowdfunded by Alan Tudyk on  The original goal was to raise $425,000 and they actually raised $3,156,069!  Which is enough for 12 episodes instead of the initially planned 3.  Filming began in June of this year.  Some crowd scenes were filmed at MegaCon 2015 in Orlando, Florida.  I had planned to attend this year but did not order tickets in time.

So who else will we be seeing?  Gina Torres, Summer Glau, Jewel Staite and Sean Maher will be guest stars at some point as well as Amy Acker, James Gunn, Seth Green, Felicia Day, Tricia Helfer, Michael Trucco, Nolan North, Emily Kinney, Robert Patrick, Mindy Sterling, Samantha Smith, Michael Dorn, Felicia Day and so many more!  Some of them will be playing made up characters while others will be starring as themselves or a fictional version of themselves.

Oh, I still haven’t answered when have I?  Sorry for the tease!  The first three episodes will be released on September 30 and then 3 more will air each week for three weeks. You can pre-order the series now for $14.99. I am considering waiting for the entire season to be released on DVD but I also don’t want to wait so I might pre-order.

What do you think?
